Morning & Quiet Time Routine

Morning & Quiet Time Routine

Snooze Snooze Snooze  ( 5:30 am)

Let’s be totally honest here, I snooze at least once. I am trying to get better, I promise. It used to not be so hard to get out of bed…I don’t know what changed!

Quiet Time Routine

I tend to do a devotional from the YouVersion app in the morning because I have less time to dedicate to my quiet time. The bulk of my bible study occurs in the evening…If you want to know more about that, comment down below. I love going through a devotional to start off my day with the word of God.There is nothing more encouraging and inspiring than God’s word…What’s your favorite devotional ?(comment below)…I just started the Fear Of God/Stand In Awe plan, and I love it! I also devote the bulk of my morning my quiet time to prayer.

Everyone’s prayer life is very different, but my “ technique” is to praise God first and foremost, then I like to cover my loved ones and myself but I always remember to leave room for God to speak during prayer. So as you can imagine, the bulk of my morning quiet time is spent in prayer. I would say about 5 minutes reading the devotional, and 15 mins reflecting and praying.

Get Ready for the Day

To be very honest, I try to make this go as quickly as possible. Outside of my shower, getting ready takes about 10-15 minutes. I don’t wear much makeup to work, I only do my eyebrows. And I also don’t spend too much time on my outfit because I work in a surgical setting. I switch into scrubs provided by my workplace as soon as I arrive to work…it’s policy, so I don’t have much leeway with this, I am not complaining though…lol.

Pack Lunch

This is very crucial, I make sure this is done even before I eat my breakfast because I hate being hangry and I hate having to buy food. My lunches are generally any leftovers I can find in the fridge or a quick salad.

Eat Breakfast

Unfortunately, it’s not very often that I can sit down and eat breakfast. I generally eat during my commute. Breakfast is generally toast, fruit, and juice!

Head To Work ( 6:45 am)

I have been blessed to live close to work. My commute in the morning is about 12-15 mins. During my commute, I like to listen to the radio, particularly the Christian stations. My stations happen to be 104.1 and 95.1 ( I live in the DC metropolitan area).

So that’s my morning! What about yours? Are you a breakfast on the go person like me?

Stay blessed,

I love reading morning routines because I need to actually create one. Lol. I need to find peace and quiet in my day before dealing with all the noise. I also need to devote more time to bible study.

yes girl, it really helps set the mood for your day. When I wake up and leave the house without doing my routine, I am so frazzled.

we have slightly similar routines, i tend to do a few minutes of youversion devotion in the morning but most times its at night. I usually also spend more time praying or a few occasions trying to dissect what i am reading. I will check out the one you posted. I am currently “being a woman of the word” and love it so far.

I love the idea of having quiet time first thing in the morning. Being a new mom, my daughter wakes me up when she’s ready (normally at 7:30) and we make the transition into the living room. First thing in the morning is the only time she’ll independently play for a decent amount of time before whining so I like to take advantage of that!

I love this post. I like to start my day early in prayer and quiet time. The devotional I have been using lately is E.M. Bounds The Power of Prayer and it’s awesome. I start my worship time with worship music that just ushers God’s presence like nothing else.

I enjoyed reading your post especially the part of your routine that involves your devotional time. It’s so encouraging for those like myself who needs to be more committed.
    Great share. Blessings!

I devote about 15 minutes in the morning too! It makes SUCH a difference! My go-to devotional is the First 5 App from Proverbs 31 Ministries!
